Staff Sergeant Kimberly Neal, Station Commander for Recruiting Substation Birmingham, Recruiting Station Montgomery, attended recruit training in June of 1996. Neal said that she always knew that she was going to join a branch of the military, but didn’t know until her senior year of high school that it would be the Marine Corps. She continued on to say that she was from a small town and wanted to get away and experience more, both good and bad. (U.S. Marine Corps courtesy photo)
