Commander Patrol Squadron (VP) 8, Cmdr. Christopher Wood, presents a plaque of appreciation to Japan Maritime Self Defense Force’s Fleet Air Wing 5 after completing a Combined Maritime Patrol exercise on May 24. The objective of the exercise was to improve Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) readiness, increasing efficiency and interoperability between the two partner nations, in an effort to cohesively accomplish the same operational goals. VP-8 is currently deployed to the SEVENTH Fleet area of operation conducting ISR missions and providing Maritime Domain Awareness to supported units throughout the Pacific theater.
