Gennelle Lee, U.S. Southern Command Situational Assessment Team operations officer, showcases the contents of an S-SAT “go-bag” to Nicaraguan Civil Defense and U.S. Embassy, Managua, Community Emergency Response Team members May 17, 2016 in Managua, Nicaragua. The team was invited to demonstrate the disaster response assistance capabilities they can provide to all seven Central American nations. The JTF-Bravo S-SAT is designed to be able to depart Soto Cano Air Base within 18 hours of notification of an approved request for assistance that originates from a partner nation by means of the respective U.S. Embassy and U.S. SOUTHCOM.
