KALAF, Djibouti- Water faucets remain unused due to maintenance issues while the people of Kalaf use hoses to siphon water from the top of the well, May 17, 2016, in Kalaf, Djibouti. U.S. Navy Cmdr. Chris Myers and Lt. Trang Tieu, Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa J44 Force Engineers, and Abdi Ali, translator and guide, talked with the village elders, measured the water level and documented the overall structural status of the well and cistern to help determine improvements needed.
