Petty Officer 1st Class Kirstin Stephens, cryptologic technician (interpretive), assigned to African Partnership Station West staff, translates a lecture on combat life-saving skills into French for sailors from Benin and Togo aboard the amphibious dock landing ship USS Gunston Hall. Gunston Hall is deployed as part of APS, an international initiative developed by Naval Forces Europe and Naval Forces Africa, which aims to work cooperatively with U.S. and international Partners to improve maritime safety and security on the African continent.
