Master Gunnery Sgt. Salvatore Cardella calls out cadence during a 5K memorial run in honor of Cpl. Sara Medina and Lance Cpl. Jacob Hug, aboard Ford Island, Hawaii, May 11, 2016. Medina and Hug lost their lives May 12, 2015, assisting in Operation Sahayogi Haat “Helping Hand” after the earthquakes in Nepal. Public Affairs and Combat Camera Marines across the Marine Corps began the memorial run simultaneously. Cardella is the Marine Corps communication chief with U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Pacific.
