Navy Corpsmen return from an MV-22 Osprey casualty evacuation drill during the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit’s MEU exercise aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, Calif., May 9, 2016. The corpsmen practiced evacuating and loading a patient onto an Osprey during the event. Knowing how to treat a casualty in an aircraft while it maneuvers to avoid hostile fire improves the corpsmen’s ability to care for wounded patients in volatile situations. The corpsmen are with Shock Trauma Platoon, Combat Logistics Battalion 11, 11th MEU. The Osprey and crew are with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 163 (Reinforced), 11th MEU.
