OJOJIHARA, Japan - Risa Kitagawa translates Japanese for dialogue between Koichi Takahashi, deputy chief of Japanese support group for Artillery Relocation Training Exercise 16-1, and Lt. Col. Neil J. Owens, Commanding Officer for ARTP 16-1 on May 10, 2016. ARTP is a Japan-funded, routine training exercise that allows Marines with 3rd Battalion, 12th Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force, based out of Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan, to conduct live-fire training. Dialogue between the U.S. and Japan is essential for maintaining a good relationship and mutual understanding.
