Petty Officer 2nd Class Justin Thomas, of Richmond, Calif., assigned to the "Black Aces" of Strike Fighter Squadron 41, gives thumbs up as final checker prior launching an F/A-18E Super Hornet from the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz. Nimitz and embarked Carrier Air Wing 11 are currently deployed to promote peace, regional cooperation and stability in the Western-Pacific region.
