A Civil Air Patrol Cessna 182 sits on display at the 2016 Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point Air Show – “Celebrating 75 Years” at MCAS Cherry Point, N.C., April 29, 2016. On May 26, 1948, Congress passed Public Law 557 permanently establishing Civil Air Patrol as the auxiliary of the new U.S. Air Force.
