MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. – Lt. Cmdr. Erik Brink, a general surgeon at Naval Medical Center San Diego, explains the operations of the Forward Resuscitative Surgical System during the Expeditionary Energy Concepts symposium at Camp Pendleton May 4, 2016. E2C features new technologies designed to improve the operational reach and effectiveness of units in combat. The demonstration highlighted strengths and limitations of current technologies and how smaller and more efficient equipment, like the concepts presented at the event, could save lives.
