Students sit and listen intently May 2 during a Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics Week Explosive Ordnance Disposal presentation at Bechtel Elementary School aboard Camp McTureous, Okinawa, Japan. STEM Week gives students’ hands-on learning opportunities about how science, technology, engineering and mathematics can be applied in everyday life as well as in future careers paths. During the EOD demonstration, Marines showcased robots and protective equipment. After the presentation students donned the protective equipment and underwent physical fitness challenges and the Marines answered career and technical questions about their career paths.
