Senior Master Sgt. Kevin Forrest, the superintendent of the 8th Special Operations Squadron, renders a salute while Airman 1st Class Morgan Mclin, a central storage journeyman with the 1st Special Operations Logistics Readiness Squadron, sings the national anthem during a ceremony for the 36th anniversary of Operation Eagle Claw at Hurlburt Field, Fla., April 25, 2016. Operation Eagle Claw, the attempted rescue mission of American hostages from the United States embassy in Iran, ended in disaster at the Desert One refueling site in April 1980. Eight American service members were killed during the mission, resulting in the Holloway Commission to convene and analyze why the mission failed. The recommended corrective actions led to the gradual reorganization and rebirth of United States Special Operations Command in 1987. (U.S. Air Force photo Airman 1st Class Kai White)
