Members of the Red Team, Gunnery Sgt. Jason Burrell of the U.S. Marine Corps Forces Cyberspace Command, Fort Meade, Md., and Senior Airman Benjamin Crowley of the 158th Communications Flight, Burlington, Vt., discuss the first day of events that transpired with members of the Blue Team, Chief Warrant Officer 2 Nicholas Richardson, and Capt. Benjamin Faltys of the Nebraska Cyber Network Defense Team (CND-T), during the virtual war games of Cyber Shield 2016 at Camp Atterbury, Ind. April 25, 2016. After action reviews are conducted daily so teams members know what they did well and also where they need to improve for the next day. Participants from 47 states and territories represent both the Red and Blue Team teams. During the second week of the exercise, the Red Team injects different cyber attack scenarios that the Blue Team has to first detect, and then defend in their virtual playground. CS 16 is an Army National Guard cyber training exercise being held April 18 to 29, 2016 designed to develop cyber- capable forces to include over 900 Soldiers, Marines, airmen, sailors and civilians from other federal agencies.
