The U.S. Marine Corps Chemical Biological Incident Response Force (CBIRF) trains in waterborne mobility operations with Landing Craft Air Cushions, assigned to U.S. Navy Assault Craft Unit Four, to rehearse the transportation of an Initial Response Force (IRF), at Marine Corps Base Quantico, Va., April 20, 2016. When directed, CBIRF forward-deploys with minimal warning to a chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear or high-yield explosive (CBRNE) threat to assist local, state, or federal agencies and the geographic combatant commanders in the conduct of CBRNE response or consequence management operations.
