U.S. Marines with the Maritime Raid Force, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit fly in a U.S. Marine Corps UH-1Y Huey helicopter during a vehicle interdiction exercise at the Jungle Warfare Training Center, Okinawa, Japan, on April 22, 2016. The training consisted of several methods and attempts to stop and secure an enemy vehicle with air assets. This event built upon the Marines’ ability to secure enemies as quickly and safely as possible with the assistance of helicopters and military working dogs. Prior to each deployment, the 31st MEU is thoroughly trained in a number of unique capabilities during a fast-paced workup cycle. This type of training allows the 31st MEU to be continually ready, even while the MEU is in garrison on Okinawa. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Lance Cpl. Jorge A. Rosales/ Released)
