MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. – Cpl. Jesse Meinhardt, squad leader, Company K, 3rd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, poses for a portrait during squad tactics training on Camp Pendleton April 19, 2016. Meinhardt recently took on the role as squad leader. It’s a position he has been waiting to fill for nearly four years. He plans on using lessons learned from previous deployments to mentor and develop the next generation of Marines. “There’s always pressure to do your job right, but at the end of the day this is what we’ve been trained to do,” said Meinhardt of his new role.
