    Chicago Marine awarded for assisting breastfeeding military moms

    Chicago, Illinois native, Gunnery Sgt. Tanzania Z. Trenier receives the Navy Marine Corps Achievement Medal, April 18, 2016, at Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan, for her support to military families and their children. Trenier led a grass roots initiative to military and civilian leaders for the installation of a child care and feeding room in the Kadena Air Base Exchange, the main shopping location for military members stationed on Okinawa, supporting the 1,200 babies and breastfeeding mothers on the island. Col. Thomas A. Pecina, Camp Foster camp commander and commanding officer of Headquarters and Support Battalion presented the award to Trenier.
