Army Sgt. Maj. Harry Rodriguez (left), financial management advisor, 398th Financial Management Support Center, attempts to dissuade Kimoy Willis (right), an Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) instructor with the 457th Quartermaster Company, from jumping off a “bridge” during an ASIST roleplay scenario session conducted April 16, 2016, in Orlando, Fla. ASIST’s audio-visual presentations, small group discussions, roleplay scenarios and other interactive activities culminated into a three-day workshop that introduced 27 Soldiers and civilians assigned to the 143rd Sustainment Command (Expeditionary) to scientifically tested techniques to provide immediate and compassionate care to individuals contemplating suicide.
