Brig. Gen. Ovidiu Pop, Romanian 2nd Division deputy commander, presents Spc. Robert W. McCoy (center) and Sgt. 1st Class Adan L. Barron, both of Company D, 80th Civil Affairs Battalion, 85th Civil Affairs Brigade, with the Romanian Emblem of Merit "Partner for Defense" (3rd Class) award during the opening ceremony for the multinational exercise Scorpions Fury 16.1 at the Romanian Land Forces Combat Training Center in Cincu, Romania, April 7, 2016. McCoy, of Saginaw, Michigan, and Barron, of El Paso, Texas, were recognized with the equivalent of the Army Commendation Medal after coming to the rescue of three Romanian civilians injured in a rollover car accident March 3, 2016, on Highway A2 between Bucharest and MK Air Base. The two Soldiers serve on 4th Infantry Division Mission Command Element's Romania Civil Affairs Team as part of Operation Atlantic Resolve.
