Levin described the size and capabilities of Navy destroyers during a naming ceremony at the GM Renaissance Center in downtown Detroit on the international riverfront. Secretary of the Navy (SECNAV) Ray Mabus announced the Navy's newest Arleigh Burke class destroyer, DDG 120, was named Carl M. Levin in honor of the longest serving senator in Michigan history.
