Powers is from Greeneville, Tennessee and currently assigned to 2nd battalion 2nd Marine Regiment. Balikatan provides opportunities for U.S. and Philippine forces to learn from each other and train for potential real world crises, better preparing them to support the local population throughout the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
