NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (Apr. 7, 2016) -- Boatswain's Mate 2nd Class Shavanda Stephens, assigned to Pre-Commissioning Unit Gerald R. Ford (CVN 78), teaches Susan Ford Bales a Spanish bowline knot during a tour of the forecastle. Ford's Deck Department uses their knot tying skills on the job as well as to decorate parts of their spaces as per tradition.
