NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (July 16, 2015) Fire Controlman 2nd Class Michael Perez, assigned to Pre-commissioning Unit Gerald R. Ford (CVN 78) installs a pump in the Dual Band Radar cooling system during routine maintenance. The dual band radar array is the first radar system in the Fleet capable of simultaneously operating on two frequency rangers coordinated by a single resource manager and is one of several technological upgrades to be featured on this new class of carriers, the Ford-class.
