U.S. Marine Sgt. Deven Turner buries communications wires in preparation for Balikatan 16 in Crow Valley, Philippines, on April 1, 2016. Turner, from Dickinson, North Dakota, is a combat field wiremen with 2nd Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment currently assigned to 12th Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force. This year marks the 32nd iteration of Balikatan where U.S. service members work “shoulder-to-shoulder” with members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines to increase combined readiness to crises and conflict across the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
