Petty Officer 2nd Class Mathew Pekarek, an aviation machinist mate, and Petty Officer 3rd Class David Carlile, an aviation machinist mate, inspect a jet engine aboard the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72). Lincoln and Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 2 are underway conducting a flight deck certification off the coast of Southern California to prepare for a fall deployment in support of maritime security operations.
