Abdul Hamid Hamid, who was internally elected to be the Farah Provincial Council president for 2010, leads the second meeting of the new nine district representatives, Jan. 25, Farah, Afghanistan. This is Hamid's second term as he served on the council for 2009 as well. The first meeting was held on Jan. 20, and focused on how the representatives would work together with a foundation of respect. Farah Province Gov. Rahool Amin and other local government leaders attended the first meeting at which Gov. Amin promised that the government will work with the Provincial Council "shoulder to shoulder". In a future meeting, the Provincial Council plans to meet with the line directors in Farah.
