U.S. Soldiers from Headquarters and Headquarters Company, Scout Platoon, 1st Battalion, 30th Infantry, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, survey the area from atop a large hill during a patrol near the village of Sayada in the provence of Kirkuk, Iraq, Feb. 2. Soldiers from 1-30 IR conducted dismounted patrols in the area surrounding an Iraqi Traffic Control Point in which the U.S. forces maintain security within the TCP while Iraqi personnel conducts day-to-day operations.
