Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson recognizes Petty Officer 2nd Class Chris Wilderman, a gunnersmate at Coast Guard Sector Ohio Valley, in Owensboro, Ky., who was elected as the Active Duty Enlisted Person of the Year, March 9, 2016. The award formally recognizes the top performing enlisted members who go above and beyond the duty of their jobs to serve as models of service to their peers, and demonstrating leadership capabilities that will shape the Coast Guard of the future.
