Marines perform preflight checks on a UH-1Y Venom for low-light training at Camp Pendleton March 3, 2016. Marines only have the opportunity to conduct low-light training a few nights per month, when the moon is not providing illumination. The live-fire training included use of a GAU-17/A Gatling gun, GAU-21 .50-caliber machine gun, and 70mm rockets. The Marines are with Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 267, Marine Aircraft Group 39, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Lance Cpl. Caitlin Bevel/Released)
