(Feb. 17, 2016) Chief Equipment Operator Jose Murphy (right) and Equipment Operator 1st Class Abel Abeyta (left), both assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 3, load boreholes with explosives for a quarry blast. The Seabee quarry on San Clemente Island is the only operational quarry in the Naval Construction Force. NMCB 3 is homeported in Port Hueneme, Calif., and is currently deployed to Okinawa, Japan. Its mission is to support Navy and joint forces throughout the U.S. Pacific Command with construction projects and humanitarian missions in more than 13 different geographical locations.
