Joshua Hetherington is assisted into the driver's hatch of an M1 Abrams Main Battle Tank by Soldiers assigned to 1st Battalion, 8th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Feb. 24, 2016, during his "day in the life of a Soldier" visit to Fort Carson. Last year, Joshua was diagnosed with a tennis ball-sized Glioblastoma Multiforme tumor in his right frontal lobe; members of Fort Carson fulfilled his wish to ride in an Abrams tank.
