Spc. Enrico Byron, from Sacramento, Calif., scans for enemies while Spc. Nicholas Gonzales, from Houston, monitors radio traffic and provides rear security. The pair are a scout sniper team assigned to the headquarters of U.S. Army Alaska’s 3rd Battalion, 509th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team (Airborne), 25th Infantry Division, during a Joint Readiness Training Center Operations Group scenario at Fort Polk, La., Feb. 24, 2016. The 4-25th BCT and the Airborne Task Force Soldiers, like all U.S. Army Alaska units, train to survive, operate, fight and win in extreme cold weather and high altitude environments. They have also proven just as effective in warmer climates. Alaska’s strategic location allows our airborne forces to get boots on the ground anywhere in the Pacific. (Photo by Capt.
