The family of Cpl. Scott Crook shows their support during the departure of the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit from Sand Diego Feb. 12, 2016. Crook, from Temecula, a field artillery fire control man, deployed with the 13th MEU as part of the Battalion Landing Team, 2nd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, I Marine Expeditionary Force. The 13th MEU is capable of conducting amphibious operations, crisis response and limited contingency operations and is beginning an estimated six-month deployment to the Western Pacific and Middle East.
