Mark Rippy, air reserve technician hydraulics specialist, 315th Maintenance Squadron, working with the 437th MXS gathers tools from a consolidated kit to begin work to troubleshoot a flight control system fault that has been isolated to the tail elevator integrated flight control modules, causing am unsafe condition on a transient C-17 Globemaster III cargo aircraft on the flightline at Joint Base Charleston, S.C. Proper tool selection increases efficiency by reducing the amount of time maintenance personnel have to go back and for between a work site and a tool kit to retrieve necessary tools.
