An SBD-3 (Scout Bomber Douglas) Dauntless, is weight tested and secured before installation as part of the World War II exhibit at the National Museum of the Marine Corps, Triangle, Va., Feb. 8, 2016. This fully restored, donated aircraft has been painted to represent the SBD-3 flown by Maj. Richard C. Mangram and Cpl. Dennis E. Byrd during the Guadalcanal Campaign on Aug. 25, 1942.
