NORFOLK, Va. (Feb. 5, 2016) Marine junior officers, currently enrolled at The Basic School (TBS) march single file aboard USS Bataan (LHD 5) to begin a war familiarization exercise (WARFEX). WARFEX is the culmination of six months of training for Marine junior officers that will familiarize them with the capabilities and limitations of multipurpose amphibious assault ships and orient them to what life will be like on a ship.
