Spc. Patrick Hewlett, Myra Cooper and Lt. Col. Frank Lee, the youngest nursing enlisted Soldier, most senior civilian nurse and eldest Army Nurse Corps commissioned officer, respectively, cut a cake during the Army Nurse Corps 115th Anniversary celebration at William Beaumont Army Medical Center, Feb. 2. Congress established the Army Nurse Corps on Feb. 2, 1901, as a professional element of nursing professionals within U.S. Army Medicine with the Army Reorganization Act of 1901.
