160205-N-WA993-175 YOKOSUKA, Japan (Feb. 5, 2016) Seaman Glenn Phillips, from Marietta, Ga., uses a pneumatic sander to remove paint from a standing pad-eye in the hangar bay of the U.S. Navy's only forward-deployed aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76). The standing pad-eye is used to secure wires from a refueling ship during underway replenishments. Ronald Reagan provides a combat-ready force that protects and defends the collective maritime interests of its allies and partners in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
