Recruits of Mike Company, 3rd Recruit Training Battalion, conduct hip raises during the bases event at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, Feb. 2. The first part of the event lasted for an hour before the recruits and drill instructors tackled the circuit course. Annually, more than 17,000 males recruited from the Western Recruiting Region are trained at MCRD San Diego. Mike Company is scheduled to graduate April 15.
