Pfc. Daniel Baillargeon of the Vermont National Guard's 86th Brigade Combat Team, watches closely as trainers of the 189th Infantry Brigade display and discuss simulations of the different types of improvised explosive devices found in theater. These Soldiers will not only discover the correct techniques of identifying IEDs, but also the procedures used to keep Soldiers safe if they encounter an IED in the field. Baillargeon, of Lyndonville, Vt., and the 86th Brigade Combat Team are currently training at Camp Atterbury Joint Maneuver Training Center before the deploy early February for one year to Afghanistan.
