PACIFIC OCEAN (Jan 21, 2016) - First class petty officers aboard the guided-missile destroyer USS Stockdale (DDG 106) take the Chief Petty Officer exam in the mess decks. Stockdale, assigned to the John C. Stennis Carrier Strike Group, is part of the Great Green Fleet, a year-long initiative highlighting the Department of the Navy’s efforts to transform its energy use to increase operational capability. Providing a combat-ready force to protect collective maritime interests, the John C.
