Michelle Mayer, from Waukesha, Wis., launches an F/A-18C Hornet assigned to the Warhawks of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 97 from the bubble on USS John C. Stennis' (CVN 74) flight deck. Providing a combat-ready force to protect collective maritime interests, Stennis is operating as part of the Great Green Fleet in the U.S. 3rd Fleet area of operations on a regularly scheduled Western Pacific deployment.
