121021-N-ZZ352-179 BAN TALONG, THE PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF LAOS (Oct. 21, 2012) One of the workers from the village takes a rest after hiking up the hill to the excavation site. Local workers are commonly contracted to assist the recovery teams sent out by the Joint POW/MIA Accounting Command (JPAC). In addition to receiving wages for their labor, local workers also receive community benefits, such as bridge improvements and free health clinics from JPAC medics.
