160120-N-KM939-133 SAN DIEGO (Jan. 20, 2016) - Secretary of the Navy (SECNAV) Ray Mabus speaks at the Great Green Fleet kickoff event on the pier beside the guided-missile destroyer USS Stockdale (DDG 106). Stockdale, assigned to the John C. Stennis Carrier Strike Group, is part of the Great Green Fleet, a yearlong initiative highlighting the Department of the Navy's efforts to transform its energy use to increase operational capability. Providing a combat-ready force to protect collective maritime interests, the John C.
