Cpl. The raid was conducted as part of Realistic Urban Training Exercise. RUTEX is high-intensity, close-quarter battle training exercise conducted by the Marines and sailors of MRF, 31st MEU, as part of their pre-deployment training. Ella, a specialized search dog, is used by MRF Marines to search for any substances that may help them learn more about their enemy or to detect any hazards for the Marines.
