An F-35B Lightning II, piloted by Squadron Ldr. Jonathan Smith, taxis after completing his first flight in the aircraft aboard Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort Jan. 11. Smith, from the United Kingdom, will be the first international pilot to complete the entire F-35B training syllabus aboard the air station. Smith is a pilot with the U.K. Royal Air Force detachment attached to Marine Fighter Attack Training Squadron 501, Marine Aircraft Group 31.
