U.S. Army Col. Kenneth C. Braddock, team chief for the 202nd Combined Action Team, pins his former gunner, Sgt. 1st Class Wesley Hawk with his second Combat Infantry Badge at Forward Operating Base Fenty, in eastern Afghanistan's Nangarhar province. Braddock presented Hawk with his first CIB award as a captain and the, then, specialist's first company commander in Saudi Arabia during Operation Desert Storm, 19 years ago. Hawk, a Troop C, 1st Squadron, 108th Cavalry Regiment platoon leader, said the leader he has become is because of Braddock and his first platoon sergeant. "Leaders are made from their men and we have a responsibility to build future leaders."
