    Cpl. Robert Redman, a primary marksmanship instructor with Marksmanship Training Company, Weapons and Field Training Battalion, teaches recruits of Fox Company, 2nd Recruit Training Battalion, about marksmanship fundamentals Dec. 8, 2015, on Parris Island, S.C. For one week, recruits learn and practice the fundamentals of marksmanship before shooting live ammunition the following week. Redman, 25, is from Pittsburgh. Fox Company is scheduled to graduate Jan. 22, 2016. Parris Island has been the site of Marine Corps recruit training since Nov. 1, 1915. Today, approximately 19,000 recruits come to Parris Island annually for the chance to become United States Marines by enduring 13 weeks of rigorous, transformative training.
