Staff Sgt. Conception Mesta of the Cal Guard's 40th Infantry Division works with her husband, Merrick Currier, and son, Merrick Jr., to wrap and distribute presents donated to troops in need at the holidays Dec. 21 at Joint Forces Training Base Los Alamitos in Orange County. The gifts were donated by families and organizations that approached Marilyn Jones, a community member who started an adopt-a-family program in 2000.
